Security

Security you can check

No app can promise to be unbreakable. Mailie Pro uses well-known, verifiable protections and is honest about what each one does.

Connections

  • TLS 1.3 to every mail server; the app cannot fall back to an unencrypted connection.
  • A warning if a server's certificate changes unexpectedly.
  • Server names looked up over encrypted DNS, and optional routing through Tor.

Storage

  • An encrypted database (SQLCipher, AES-256) for everything the app keeps.
  • Keys held in the hardware-backed Android Keystore.
  • An optional app lock with your fingerprint or face, and screenshot blocking.

End-to-end encryption

  • OpenPGP and S/MIME, to send and read encrypted and signed mail.
  • Automatic key discovery through Web Key Directory and Autocrypt.
  • Always free: you can always decrypt mail you have received.

Fraud warnings

  • Phishing and scam checks on every message, on your phone.
  • Warnings about look-alike sender domains and changed bank details.
  • A check before you send. All warnings are advice and never act for you.
